Werner Herzog is one of my favorite directors. I’m especially fond of his documentaries, notably “Grizzly Man”. For this illustration I used bright colors as pink and electric blue. I love the contrast between these two colors, as the one between the nihilism and the deep humanity that one can find in Herzog’s movies. The German director can be very funny at times! One of my favorite quotes of his is “I’m not stardust. I’m Bavarian!”, from the documentary “Fireball: Visitors from Darker Worlds”.
Ho realizzato questo ritratto illustrato di Werner Herzog perchè è uno dei miei registi preferiti. Amo i suoi film e i suoi documentari, tra i quali il mio preferito è “Grizzly Man”. Per questa illustrazione ho utilizzato colori molto brillanti: rosa e blu elettrico. L’intento è create un contrasto vibrante, che simboleggia il contrasto tra nichilismo spietato e profonda umanità di Herzog. La mia citazione preferita del regista è “Io non sono fatto di polvere di stelle, io sono bavarese!” dal documentario “Fireball: Visitors from Darker Worlds”.
